Connecting to AOL thru CYOU Internet
AOL offers a special price of $14.95 for Unlimited access if you use your present Internet Provider Instead of Dialing thru their Dial-up connection. The reason they offer this low rate is the expense involved in supplying dial-up lines and access. CYOU pays approximately 100 dollars per port to offer the quality access we provide. If you presently pay $23.90 a month, and have to dial a toll call, you can save money by paying AOL $14.95 and CYOU $18 dollars per month (Price after first month if paid by due date-First Month cost 20 dollars). For instance, if you pay AOL $23.90 and dial the Niceville number 2 times a day to check your E-mail, you not only may have a problem getting thru because of busy signals, but it costs you 20 cents per call or 12 dollars plus tax for a total of $37.10 [The tax on telephone service is approximately 10 percent]. Compare that to calling as many times a day as you like thru CYOU; experiencing very FEW busy signals, and paying a total of 32.95-even if you call 10 times a day [$14.95 to AOL and $18.00 to CYOU (after 1st month if paid by the due date-first month is $20 dollars). It's plain to see why everyone is talking about CYOU!
1. Call AOL and request the 14.95 plan. They will not place you in this plan automatically.
2. Click on your AOL icon.
3. Click on Setup and Create Location.
4. Name the Location CYOU AOL Connect.
5. About 2/3 of the way down, click on the pull down menu that says AOL net or SprintNet and select TCP/IP. Change it on BOTH sides.
6. Click Save. If you have WINDOWS 95, or Windows 3.x using Microsoft Internet Explorer's Dialer, you are ready to access AOL thru CYOU. If you have Windows 3.x using Netscape's Dialler or Trumpet Winsock's Dialer, go to 7.
7. Windows 3.x users using Netscape's Dialer or Trumpet Winsock's Dialer must add the path of their Winsock driver to their Autoexec.bat. To do this, exit windows to the C: prompt. Type: edit autoexec.bat and press enter. Then find the section where it says Path=C:\Dos;C:\Windows; etc. After Windows and the ; click your cursor there and add C:\Netscape; if you are using the Netscape Dialer or C:\Winsock; if you are using the Trumpet Winsock dialer. (Be sure that there is a semi colon ; between the end of Windows and the start of C:\Netscape or Winsock and at the end of C:\Netscape or Winsock before the next Listed item.
