CYOU offers uncensored access to all Newsgroups through
our news server, news.cyou.com You can access newsgroups with Netscape,
Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0, or other News programs like WinVN.
NewsGroups with Netscape
To set up Netscape, click on Options, then mail and news
preferences, then servers, and where it list nntp server at the bottom, type
news.cyou.com and then click OK. Next you must click on Window and Netscape
News. Double click on news.cyou.com and then click on options and Show All
News Groups. It should start downloading the newsgroup titles to your hard
drive. Once it finishes, go to options then Show All Newsgroups, and all the
newsgroups will be listed in the window on the left. Scroll thru until you
find one of interest, and double click on it. It will download the default
number of messages on the right. Once downloaded, you can click on any
article and it will display the article at the bottom. The News window is
divided into three parts: a left, a right, and a bottom part that is the
same size as the top two put together. If you only see a left and right
window, move your mouse from the bottom of your monitor screen up to the
bottom center of the left window until it points up and down and click and
hold your button down and drag the bottom window down until you can see the
article. If you happen in to adult information, be aware that you can not
always predict what will be displayed and you may be in for a !!shock!! or a
treat depending on what your perception is. To save any article, go to file,
then save as and give it a name and a location. To save pictures, like
animations, or gifs or jpgs, right click and select save as and type or
click the directory you want to save the information to. You may later view
saved information with VuePrint which is available at http://www.cyou.com/download.
NewsGroups with Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0
To view newsgroups with MSIE 3.0 click on Mail and then
Read News. You will be prompted for the name of the news server
news.utelfla.com. Type it in. Next you will be asked if you want to down
load the list of newsgroups. Click yes. You only have to download newsgroups
one time. After that the newsgroup titles only are stored in your hard
drive. After downloading click Show All News Groups. After the list is
displayed, you can scroll thru and double click on the ones of interest.
After going thru the list and double clicking on the ones of interest, Click
on Subscribe selected Newsgroups. This is not an actual subscription. It
only means that when you click show subscribed newsgroups you do not have to
go thru all 20000 to find your top 50. It will only show your favorites.
Now, highlight a newsgroup and click Go to. It will fetch that newsgroup.
After fetching the newsgroup you may click on any article and it will
display the article at the bottom. If there are any graphics, A paper clip
will be displayed on the right. Clicking on the paper clip will show what
type of file is available clicking on the file will display the picture. Be
prepared to possibly be shocked because a file may be named something
interesting and be totally different.
Newsgroups with WiNVN
WinVN is a news program that allows you to download as
many articles or jpgs in a Newsgroup as you want to without sitting there
the whole time.. After installing, You can go thru the list of news groups
and highlight the articles you are interested in and after highlighting, you
can click file and decode selected articles and it will download each one to
the directory you specify. This is a way that you can start a lengthy
download in the newsgroup and go to bed and in the morning have the whole
newsgroup on your computer.

VuePrint (an image viewer). Once you have the list downloaded, you can use
viewprint for any jpgs that were in the list of articles. It has slideshow
capabilities where you can click and display the images one after another
and allow you to delete or discard any unwanted items. VuePrint is available
